Stewardship 2025

STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIN LETTER 2025

Dearest Stewards and Friends of Saint Gregory:

Welcome to Stewardship Sunday at our home parish—this is a day to offer gratitude to our dedicated Stewards and, especially, to God for our many gifts and blessings. This is also the day we launch our Stewardship Ministry campaign for the new year. Our 2025 theme is “Your Own of Your Own.”

Our Church as It Could Be

The words “Your Own of Your Own” are drawn from the moment of the consecration within Divine Liturgy. This is when we, as a community, acknowledge that God has given us everything, and the greatest gift to us is Jesus Christ. Because of this, we offer the only worthy thing we can: gratitude and worship of our Lord, along with our loving dedication to the Gospel. At this moment, we humans participate in a truly divine moment. As individuals and as a faith community, we often imagine only what is humanly possible. However, if we do our part in faith, God will lovingly return to us much more than we could ever imagine. This is the true meaning of “Your Own of Your Own.” We will see our church, not as it is, but as it could be, with our humble gifts multiplied by God’s generosity and love.

Where We Have Been

2024 was a pivotal year. As one parishioner recently mentioned, the church is “humming with activity.” We are seeing rising participation in worship, Sunday School, educational programs and fellowship events (from our youth to adults). Examples of this new energy include the New Men’s Bible Study and Fellowship Group, the fledgling Knitting Ministry, the creation of the Long-Range Planning Committee and the fulfillment of several grants through the Thriving Congregations Initiative (TCI).

Where We Are Heading

As we look to 2025, we have so many plans for our ministries and programs. In addition to our ongoing cycle of worship, ministries and programs, a Lenten retreat is in the works, along with a summer Vacation Bible School “pilot.” We also look forward to solidifying, further, our relationships with local helping organizations and growing the scope of our philanthropic reach in the greater community. And this is just for starters. Our little church has big plans for our mutual gifts. As we continue to offer up the ultimate gift of the Eucharist each Sunday, we likewise continue to offer our own gifts and talents to His Church

Next Steps for Stewardship 2025

With these things in mind, on behalf of our Steward Ministry Committee, we invite you to consider our 2025 Stewardship Ministry campaign, outlined within this packet. These resources will help us better understand the importance of considering our “humble gifts,” both individually and as a parish, in the context of presenting our “time, talent and treasure” to the Lord. In addition, a 2025 Commitment Card is included, and an electronic version will soon be available within the Stewardship pages of our parish website.

Considering our parish’s financials struggles over the past several years, this may be the ultimate time to re-engage our individual and communal gifts, while prayerfully seeking to multiply them. Our challenges are substantial, but with God we move beyond what is humanly expected, what we are used to experiencing. In 2025, we can make the time to reflect, strive and steward our talents in new and creative ways—for the sake of our parish’s sacred mission. With God, anything is possible.

With love in the Lord and profound gratitude,

Fr. Alex Chetsas, Presiding Priest

Phil LaFond, Stewardship Ministry Chair & Parish Council President

Christian Stewardship Is...

…learning how to be a responsible and concerned caretaker of Christ’s Church; it is learning how to enjoy Church life and be happy in Church work, for in Her dwells the fullness of the Spirit of God.

…our active commitment to use all our time, talent and treasure for the benefit of humankind in grateful acknowledgment of Christ’s redeeming love.

…caring for the needs of others.

…offering one’s self to God as He offered Himself to us.

…what a person does after saying “I believe…”, as proof of that belief.

…devotion and service to God and His Church as persons, as families, as parish, as diocese/metropolis, as national Church and as Church universal.
